8/22/2016 Please donate to my medical fund and help Sparkle Cat Rescue raise $400 to cover my expenses.
My name is LIONEL and I am a bobtail kitten, about 10 weeks old. I joined Sparkle Cat Rescue over a month ago with my brother Maxwell. We both had major issues with our tummies when we came into the program but foster mama got us on a special diet of grain free food, Albon, probiotics, pumpkin and our tummy issues resolved.
About a week ago my tummy started hurting and I started having diarrhea. You see, I started sneaking food from my foster friends' bowls and it wasn't my special grain free food. It didn't affect my brother but it sure did upset my tummy, causing me to have to get Sub-Q fluids and around the clock monitoring from foster mom to make sure I was hydrated. I wouldn't eat and she had to syringe feed me critical care food.
On Sunday, August 21, foster mama took me to All Paws Pet Emergency Hospital in Burlington, NC since our regular vet is not open on Sundays. They gave me fluids, anti-nausea medicine and suggested I go to my regular vet as soon as they opened on Monday.
Foster mom took me to our partner vet, Plaza Veterinary Hospital, on Monday, August 22 and they gave me more anti-nausea meds, more fluids, a Vitamin B-12 injection, among many other meds I must take for the next 7 days.
I thought I might die last night. I was in so much discomfort. Foster mommy was really worried about me too. She had me at her side all weekend and I slept next to her. That is the only place I could find comfort and know I was safe and someone was taking care of me.
We need help with my medical expenses and donations of food to help me get strong and healthy like I was over a week ago.
What helped me so much with my tummy was Blue Buffalo Freedom Grain Free Kitten canned and dry foods. I also need to eat canned pumpkin (organic), take a probiotic every day to help my digestive support.
Please donate if you can. No amount is too small.
The photo below is how I looked on August 13. The photo up top is me on August 22 before foster mommy took me to the vet.
I have a follow-up appointment at Plaza Vet on Monday, August 29. Money raised will help with future expenses and food to get me back to good health.
