Adoption Events: Help is needed for set up and break down at adoption events. Volunteers who can socialize with cats and speak to potential adopters and the general public are also welcome. Volunteers are needed to transport cages, cats

Animal Support: Volunteers assist at our adoption events (Pet Supermarket, Nature’s Emporium, Pet Sense Mebane, and more) and transport cats when needed to these events.

Crafters: We could use people who sew, knit and crochet to handcraft items to help raise money for our kitties. We can solicit for donations of material and yarn and supplies if needed.  Assist with sewing our fundraising catnip mice and come up with new crafty fundraising items. We also need volunteers to assist with making our donation collection jars. Materials will be provided.

Feral Cat Support: Assist with trap-neuter-return (TNR) of community cats and provide transport to Burlington or Greensboro NC clinics. We will train you how to trap and release.

Foster Parents: Fostering means you get to save the life of a cat or kitten in need, all in the comfort of your own home.  Whether you can care for one cat or many, we would love for you to become a foster parent.  You don't have to have fostering experience. We offer training, guidance, and lots of moral support.

Fosters provide temporary housing for our kitties until they are adopted. Sparkle Cat Rescue pays for the costs associated with veterinary care and we provide food and litter and other supplies for our foster cats, and foster parents provide love and socialization, as well as transport to vet appointments and meeting interested adopters once our adoption coordinator approves an adoption application and a home visit has been conducted. A foster parent may also conduct the home visit and meet ‘n’ greet with their foster cat and be part of the decision making process.

Fundraising Coordinator/Volunteers: We host various fundraising projects and special events throughout the year, some large and some small.  Every dollar helps us keep our cats healthy and happy and allows us to save more cats! We need volunteers to assist with planning of special events, solicit and collect donations from local businesses (movie tickets, restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets, etc.)

Home Visit Volunteers: Meet potential adopters and do home visit prior to meet ‘n’ greet. Home visits may take place in Burlington, Graham, Mebane, Greensboro, NC.

Pet Supply Store Adoption Enclosures: We have four dorms in use at Pet Sense in Mebane, NC. We need volunteers that will let the cats out and enjoy some socialization. The cats are tended to by Pet Sense Employees (cleaning litter and feeding them) so our volunteers just need to provide some special attention.

Photography: We are always looking for professional and amateur photographers to take photos of our foster cats so we can post them online.

Transportation: Help transport kitties to and from vet appointments and adoption fairs. Vet appointments may be in Burlington, Greensboro or Mebane. Specify if you are able to do all three.
