As we close out the month of July, we look back at the difference we've made in the lives of the 'forgotten felines' in our community and beyond. Since we formed in October and incorporated November 6, 2014, we have rescued 110 cats. These cats have received the medical treatment and love they so deserve. No longer forgotten, we are ensuring they find a lifetime of love within homes that we have screened carefully to be sure they never end up at shelters or back on the street again. Our group of volunteers work tirelessly (most seven days a week). We all have jobs, families, and give our time up for the cats we rescue. Thank you for your support every single day and for the donations you send our way, be it money or food donations! We are so thankful to our supporters because without you we couldn't do what we do. |

Temporary boarders! These two young boys were trapped by our wonderful volunteer Christina Lippard. A few weeks ago we got a request for help in trapping some cats behind someone's house. Two adults were trapped and spayed/neutered and returned to the neighborhood; however these two fellas were not able to be returned without threat of animal control being called. We are working to find another rescue to take them in as we are at capacity at the present time. They have already been neutered and are up to date on vaccines. On their first night at Sparkle headquarters they are allowing me to pet them (I do this very carefully). They are very young - probably about 12-14 weeks old.

Gold's Gym Fitness Fundraiser ~ 'Break A Sweat For A Rescue (or homeless) Pet!'
What a great day we had at Gold's Gym today for our fitness fundraiser. We met so many nice people and recruited a new volunteer and shared our mission with so many nice folks! We raised $160 for the Spence and Havah Surgery Fund, sold $30 in raffle tickets and collected more food and toys! Oh yeah, check out our nifty breakaway collars someone went out and bought for us today! Thanks Mark and Angie! Now maybe we can be assigned names! Tess got to hang out with Matt at the front and greet members. Us boys just were too restless to sit still but she was a very good girl. Thank you to everyone who stopped by with donations of money, food, kitty litter and toys, and to talk with us. Thank you to Christin Michelle Hall, one of our supporters/volunteers and mama to Miesha (formerly Tinsel) for helping get this event put together!

Several of our TNR volunteers have been overwhelmed with trapping requests for 'community cats'
needing to be TNR'd (trap-neuter-return) and we have had quite a few emergency rescues,
putting our foster homes in overload. We are searching for fosters, TNR volunteers,
and donations to help care for the kitties we have rescued.
Spence & Havah are scheduled for surgery on July 23.
They will each have one knee operated on which the surgery estimate is at $3000-$3400.00 just for one knee.
About 4 weeks after their surgery on July 23, they will be able to have the second surgery on their other knees.
We have raised less than half of the surgery estimate of over $6000.00.
Your support is needed!
Can't donate?
Please help spread our mission to your friends and family, ask them to share.
We are saving the 'forgotten felines', providing them much needed medical care (spay/neuter, vaccinations)
and socializing the ones that need it most to help them find safe, indoor forever homes.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Sparkle Cat Rescue is trying to help a fellow SCR supporter trap and remove 4-7 (some pregnant) Community Cats from a bad part of town.
We will need volunteers to transport from Burlington NC to Dr. East off Hines Chapel Road in Greensboro NC on several occasions in the weeks ahead. It is a rewarding venture: Once spayed/neutered/vaccinated, these cats have an opportunity to be transitioned to a working dairy farm barn-home. The dairy farm is located south of Graham, on the border of Eli Whitney, just off 87.
We also have a vital request for a few super responsible TEMPORARY volunteers to rotate visits to the barn checking on the crated cats while they acclimate. Once acclimated, cats will be released to live as they please in an ideal environment.

Thank you so much to The Main Line in Graham, NC for hosting a Kitten Shower Adoption Fair for us on Saturday, July 11! It was a huge success and we met so many wonderful supporters and kitten lovers! Cupcakes and kitty cuddles - who could ask for more? We got two adoption applications and a new foster application, along with a generous amount of food, supplies and money donations to help our kitties! Eleven Main Line vendors donated a portion of their sales to Sparkle Cat Rescue and we are so grateful for their support! We also have three raffle baskets for the month of July we are selling tickets for. We will have the baskets at each event in July and from July 25-31 they will be at the Main Line for viewing. We can't wait to do this again! Stay tuned because we are planning an October event at The Main Line! Please be sure to LIKE The Main Line on Facebook and shop with them for some unique finds! https://www.facebook.com/themainline134

We nicknamed him 'Magic Mike'. He showed up on the porch of a Sparkle Cat Rescue supporter who contacted SCR on Sunday, July 5. I was in pretty bad shape and my rescuer bathed me and fed me good food trying to keep me healthy and safe. Dr. Linda East offered to take me and help get me better. My skin was in pretty bad shape, and my feet and eyes seemed to hurt. My fur and skin were not common for cats that live outside or even indoor cats. It is suspected I came from a hoarder situation. I had a few good days with Dr. East. She took me home with her each night. I got to lay out in the sun and everyone had hopes I would grow stronger. I got regular meals and was so thankful to have so much love. I started going down hill again on Thursday, July 9 and Dr. East humanely put me to sleep. I am running free now at the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you all for your love and prayers.
