October 28, 2016 Interview with Emily Byrd of Fox8 (WGHP)
"BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Sometimes you have to get creative when running an animal rescue. Sparkle Cat Rescue is a nonprofit, volunteer feline rescue group out of Burlington that is dedicated to saving cats through a foster and adoption program and assisting with trap, neuter and release.
Annie Bella, a local tattoo artist, is donating 50 percent of her proceeds to the local rescue. The offer expires on Dec. 1, 2016, so if you wish to have body art ever, contact Annie and help Sparkle Cat Rescue continue their service to the pet community."  STORY HERE

Helping Stray Cats In Alamance County
interview with Shelley Roupas of Fox8/WGHP in High Point, NC!

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Every day, twice a day, Christina Lippard feeds her cats. They don't live in her house, but in the woods behind a busy strip mall on Church Street in Burlington. She discovered the colony of feral cats about six months ago. "I just don't like to see anything go hungry," said Lippard. "There are about 14 or so of them. It took me a while, but I trapped them and spayed and neutered them. That way, they can't add to the overpopulation of cats anymore." Lippard also fosters cats through Sparkle Animal Rescue. Stephanie Grantham started the nonprofit in late 2014 after seeing a need for a feline only animal rescue in Alamance County. "This is a big problem here. There are quite a few feral colonies. People who even have cats as pets and don't spay neuter them, they're going to go out and add to the population. Then the owner doesn't know what to do with the kittens and they dump them somewhere. It just breaks my heart," said Grantham. In just over six months, the rescue group has found homes for 90 healthy cats. Sparkle Cat rescues the cats that can be tamed, cares for them and makes sure they're healthy, spayed and neutered and then they are available for adoption. "We can't save all the cats and that's why people need to really get their cats spayed and neutered. It's the only answer to cut down on this growing problem. There are a lot of low cost spay/neuter options on our website. Also we have a lot of information on our site if people see a stray cat and don't know what to do about it," said Grantham. -- http://myfox8.com/2015/06/16/helping-stray-cats-in-alamance-county/
